Chapter 10: The Shell and the Glass
Perspective: Jack
Get the glasses!!!
These boys are listening to the real leader me. They all abandoned Ralph and his stupid ideas for me the ruler of the hunters. He is so barmy he thinks that the beast doesn’t exist and that is ruining my plan. The hunters and I found this cave on the mountain and I made a perfect shelter. It is way better then Ralph’s stupid little wimpy huts.
All the boys are treating me like I’m a God. They think of me theologically. They are always getting me coconuts with milk and water. The boys want to follow me because I only have one rule to obey me on my island. Ralph has like fifty rules. He is always illuminating whenever he talks when I talk I just tell them what I want and they do it.
It is getting old having to go into their camp and steal half burnt wood so we can make a fire. So I decide that we can just go in and raid their huts to get Piggy’s glasses. Then we don’t have to go down there every time we want to cook. Roger, Maurice, and I went down to their camp and we went into their hut and started to beat them up. Piggy had an ass-mar attack so it was easy to get the glasses. Then Eric started to fight with Ralph thinking it was one of us. Those boys think that they could stand up to my awesome hunters. No one can defeat us not even the beast. Once we had the glasses I felt purged because we could make our own fires now.
