Book Review Final

Of Mice and Men

I think that the book Of Mice and Men is a good book for everyone. It is very suspenseful the whole time I was reading it wanted to know what was going to happen next. I think this book is really good and everyone who reads it will like it.

This book is about two friends that have been together forever. They just got kicked out of their other job so they already have a new job to go to. When they are on their way to their new job it gets dark so they stop in the bushes to go to sleep and behind the bushes there is a pond. When they get to their new job they meet a lot of people that become friends, but they also meet a couple people that are going to end up causing trouble in the end. I really like this book because I liked following their life and seeing what would happen next.

One of them is named George and the other one is named Lennie. They are the main characters in this book. George is the smarter one of the two; he is also the shorter one of the two. George has known Lennie for along time. Ever since they met he has been watching out for Lennie. But he can also be mean some times, like if Lennie does something wrong then George will curse him out or hit him and sometimes both. Overall in this book George is a protagonist character.

Then there’s Lennie who is not so smart, many people say that he is mentally challenged when they meet him; however he is the taller one of the two. He is probably the tallest person in the book. Lennie acts like a kid most of the time. He likes to touch things that he likes because he wants to feel them, while he likes it in the beginning of the book later on it will not treat him any good. Lennie is a protagonist character.

Next there’s Curley, he is one of the antagonist characters. Curley is the boss’s son, so he gets it pretty easy. He is always trying to find a way to get into a fight with Lennie, which isn’t very smart because Curley is less then half his size. Curley has something against tall people because he is jealous that they are so tall and he is short. That leads to trouble later on.

Last but not least there’s Curley’s Wife. She is another antagonist character. She is really pretty and she is very flirtatious. She has a thing for Lennie probably because he is tall. She is always finding a way to be with Lennie. In the beginning George tells Lennie to stay away from her so she doesn’t cause any trouble but later she starts coming up to him. She doesn’t know what kind of trouble that will give her later.

As you can see this book is really good and I would recommend it to anyone. As I said before it is very suspenseful and interesting. It starts out slow moving in the beginning but later it gets livelier. You should read it!
