Quote 1:
Pg. 162, Mr. Rosenfeld, "Even yeshiva you want? You know, girls like you shouldn't be so picky. You should be happy to get a decent fellow."
I think that this quote relates to number seven, because Mr. Rosenfeld is treating Elli like she is not worthy of a smart boyfriend, because she was in the Holocaust. She should be able to go out with whoever she wants. I think that he thinks she has gone through so much that she will not care.
I think that if I was in Elli's position I would want someone who is smart so they could support me. Also after all she went through she deserves someone good.
Question 1:
How do you think Elli felt when he was talking to her like that?
Quote 2:
Pg. 179, Elli's Mom, "Well, take a look. There is litter everywhere. Tomorrow we'll borrow cleaning utensils from Cilike and start scrubbing this place."
I think this relates to number five, because they have to face the hardship of going into a new dirty apartment. Also they have to move everything over. I think that will be hard to do.
If I was in their position I would have a hard time coming to a new country and then moving. I feel bad for Elli.
Question 2:
How would you feel if this happened to you?

Quote #1:
I agree with what you said because Elli does need a guy who will support her and who will care for who she is. That guy was thinking of the Jewish people as bad and he doesn't even know Elli for who the person that she is. I also would want someone to support me and for someone to like for the person who I was, no matter if i was Jewish or not.
Question #1:
I think that she felt hurt and unwanted by anyone at that time. I am very glad that she hung up the phone, and I would never talk to him again if I was her.
Quote #2:
I agree also with what you said on this quote. I also think that this will be a fun and exciting experience for them because this is their first apartment in their new home. I think that they will have fun cleaning it up and having a very place to call their own.
Question #2:
I would be excited that I have a new home and I would be officially starting my life over from that point on. On the other hand, I would be annoyed that i would have to clean a whole house.
