Hello, America Post 3

Quote 1:

Pg. 85, Elli's Mom, " Don't let him get too deeply involved with you,"

This quote relates to number seven, because Alex treats Elli really nicely. Elli almost has a crush on him. Her mom is worried that they will get involved, because he is so much older then Elli.

If I was Elli's mom I would do the same thing, because she is eighteen years younger then him. I think that she might get into trouble if she got involved with him.

Question 1:

Why do you think Elli's Mom wants her to stay friends with Alex, and not get involved?

Quote 2:

Pg. 90, Mr. Epstien, " Don't we all! We have dictionaries here. Can you do bookkeeping?"

This quote relates to number seven, because it shows how the person at the job interview thinks of Elli. I think that he is trying to joke with her but she doesn't really understand it. She seems kind of worried about getting her first job.

I would feel the same if I was in her position. I think she is afraid that they won't think she is smart enough to do the job.

Question 2:

How do you think you would feel going to a new country and going to your first job interview?

Quote #1: I agree with what you said on the first quote, Elli will get involved with him and that wont be good to like a guy 18 years older then she is. He may break her heart and I don't think Elli's mom wants that to happen to her at such a young age. I also think that their will be more trouble with Elli.

Question #1: I think that her mom doesn't want her to get involved because they are 18 years apart and their will be some trouble. Also Elli doesn't know enough about him.

Quote #2: I agree with what you said also. Elli is really nervous but the lady is just trying to make her feel better and it isn't working. Everything for her is different here in America and she hasn't adjusted yet.

Question #2: If I were to go to a brand new country that I knew nothing about I would feel even more nervous than Elli is. I would stand still and not feel safe and very uncomfortable.

Nice Job!
