From Haven to Home:
I think we went to the Jewish exhibit, because since we are learning about immigration we should learn about the people that carved the way for other immigrants. Another reason is because they created many important things in our country. Like Hollywood and Las Vegas. Some things that I found interesting were how the Jews fought more in the north during the Civil War. Another thing that I learned was General Grant wanted to expel the Jews in Tennessee, because he thought they would just cause trouble, but President Lincoln refused. I also didn’t know that Jews liked Lincoln. Something that I learned was that the Jews were in the mafia, mostly the Irish and Italian mafia.
Children of Immigrants:
“I believe as an individual I can help America achieve its goals. I remember last year I helped collect canned foods for the soup kitchen. I also raised money when the Twin Towers fell. I believe things like this may seem little but can mount to bigger and larger things.

I like the picture of the mother and daughter from Thailand, because they look like they are happy to come to the United States. I also like it because you can tell that even though they don’t know what will happen to them they are still exited to have a new home.
